World of Wu-Yu
The leopard-like race called tabaxi are not native to the continent. They come from a land far beyond the seas to the south, where they are kept as slaves by a race of serpent-men called yuan-ti. Slavery on the continent was illegal under the dwarven emperors, and trade with the yuan-ti banned. When Hunun ascended to the throne, to appease the halfling merchants he opened all forms of trade with the Yuan-ti Empire. Tabaxi slaves have since poured into the continent. They can be found as trophies of the wealthy or slave entertainment.
Tabaxi are around 5 feet tall, and have fine fur coats in varying colors and patterns. They eat only meat. Most are de-clawed when they become slaves.
Freed tabaxi are not unheard of, but most races assume tabaxi to be either slaves on errands or runaways. Tabaxi adventurers are very rare.
